I am very pleased to announce that I have been appointed as the Victorian Director of the Security Providers Association of Australia (SPAAL). I am very excited to be apart of this security association.
I have been nominated for the Executive Board which was established in 1966 and operates Nationally, being an Approved Security Industry Association in Queensland, Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory.
SPAAL is committed to building a professional, ethical, reliable and well respected security industry for the future and has in place strategic planning and other initiatives to consolidate this commitment and promulgate its corporate objectives on behalf of the membership. Historically, SPAAL has worked in partnership with Government and Non-Government agencies to bring about appropriate changes to legislation and perhaps the Private Security Act may need to be looked at, to ensure all staff providing a security function within a private home are licensed requiring prior training and probity vetting.
I look forward to the day that celebrations can operate safety, with all staff having appropriate credentials and insurances
