This is what I don’t understand:
We spend millions of dollars on awareness and emergency response for the following:
Cigarette Smoking
Illegal Drugs
However our biggest killer, Alcohol is legal and is the main drug that is causing destruction and death in our community.
Why does it not get targeted in the same way?
Why don’t we have mass advertisements via our television, bill boards, items that are purchased?
Why don’t we have more education and awareness for our young people in schools?
Why when I pick up newspaper it is still okay to offer discounts on booze, constantly bombarding me with specials on grog?
Why at my child’s junior football awards it is okay for parents to consume alcohol at these presentations?
This is why as a community we need to re focus and start taking this acceptable issue SERIOUSLY
