As The Host We Must Protect Our Kids At Parties

With the amount of media attention focused on out of control parties we can longer say we did not know.

With a combination of more then 50 young people, poorly managed alcohol and the risk of gatecrashers you are asking for trouble

It is up to HOST and PARENTS to provide a safe environment for all guests attending their party.  This is part of providing DUTY OF CARE.

As a mother of a teenager, I cringe as I imagine if it was my child laying in hospital with serious injuries as a result of a poorly planned celebration, particularly if reasonable steps were not taken to ensure the party was safe.

Reasonable steps would include:

Adequate sober parent helpers

Ensure all alcohol was managed (Includes both supply and BYO)

Professional security

In the future, it would not surprise me if guests start suing hosts for damages incurred whilst celebrating in their home.  Maybe if this happens it  will ensure parents look after our kids when they attend their teen's party

With this particular NYE party I hope the parents had a plan
