This is where I am confused. Currently we have an increase in parents hosting pre drink parties for their kids attending 'alcohol supplied ' parties
This means that a large proportion of these kids are smashed prior to even attending the real party celebration
I had one parent recently quiz me about the alcohol management system that we provide which is the following:
2 bar staff (for 150 kids) with an RSA
Water chaser system commences 2 hours after party starts
All glass decanted
This particular parent interrogated me for 20 minutes in regards to our bar management system. The same system that I put in place at all of the Unome parties. The system is extremely successful and is a winner with all the parents and young people.
After spending a lengthy time on the phone with her she then indicated that she was also putting on a pre drink party for the kids. She is one of many parents that are hosting these parties. I was pretty surprised. She informed me that “ it is the normal thing to do now “!!
I also am aware of another party recently where 3 different households hosted a pre drink party prior to the main party. Not only was a paramedic called to the main party but one also was called to the pre drinks party.
I can’t believe Australia's drinking culture !! What are we teaching our kids ??!!
Please say no and do not promote our piss head society !!
