Police confirmed the 17-year-old died at Royal Perth Hospital
POLICE are treating the death of Ballajura teenager Kuol Akut as a suspected homicide following the release of CCTV footage that shows the moment he was critically injured after a party in Girrawheen.
Police confirmed the 17-year-old died at Royal Perth Hospital just before midday on Thursday.
Kuol was found unconscious on the side of Hainsworth Avenue after an 18th birthday party about 11.45pm last Friday.
Major Crime Squad Detective Senior Sergeant Tom Mills told media during a conference on Thursday that police were treating Mr Akut’s death as a suspected homicide following the release of CCTV from the Hainsworth Recreation Centre.
The footage appears to show Kuol being struck by an object close to his face by a person wearing a black and white T-shirt.
He staggers, regains his footing and eventually collapses next to a pedestrian barrier.
