TEENS hurled bottles from a balcony and brawled in a quiet suburban street during wild Australia Day celebrations while their parents were away.
Police tried to pounce on the out-of-control young revellers who overtook a section of a Hawthorn East neighbourhood.
But the teenagers fled the officers, running down Victoria Rd before they could be caught.
About 60 people had gathered at a teen’s home while their parents were away.
Witnesses say partygoers were throwing objects, screaming and wrestling in the street and pushing shopping trolleys into parked cars.
