Secondary Supply Consent Letter – TAS

What this letter is for

The parental consent letter required under Tasmanian law before a minor can be served alcohol at a supervised private event.

This letter is required by Tasmania's secondary supply law under the Police Offences Act 1935. It is illegal to give alcohol to a minor in a private home unless the supplier is a parent, an adult with parental rights, or an adult approved by the minor's parent or guardian. Fines go up to $12,000 and jail terms up to 12 months. Without this letter, a minor will not be served alcohol at the event.

How it works

1. Purchase the letter. You receive the two-page PDF with your receipt number, which validates it.
2. Fill in the event details on page 1 and send the letter to the parents of your invited minors.
3. Parents complete and sign page 2, then scan or photograph it back to you at least one week before the event.
4. On the night, minors present the completed letter before they can be served.
